Embracing a culture of care in the performing arts.

Hello and welcome! This free, one-day Conference of Care invites artist/arts worker caregivers and their performing arts allies to come together and ‘fuel up’ as we continue to build momentum around support for caregivers and care needs in the performing arts. The conference will highlight the vibrant policy models developed through the pilots of our ’21-22 Level UP! Strategy Partners, celebrating their work in helping to move the needle toward a ‘culture of care.

Inspired by the work of our partners from across Canada, the conference is itself a pilot project that explores the question:

How can we create a conference that cares for caregivers?

Alongside artistic and panel presentations, we will offer restorative sessions, childcare by The Summerhill Club, and seeing as November 18th is a TDSB/TCSB PA Day in Toronto, we invite your young ones to join us on site for full day programming by Theatre Direct‘s Creation Warehouse. If you are someone caring for aging adults or those in need of personal care, please be in touch with me, Susie, from the Balancing Act team to discuss how we can meet your needs. susie@theatredirect.ca

This is a free conference. You’ll find program information and registration below. HERE is a word document of all the conference information in black text on white background. If you require any assistance with registration or have any questions, please reach out: susie@theatredirect.ca. On behalf of myself and the Balancing Act team – Lisa Marie, Margaret, and Saba – we look forward to meeting you, taking in the day’s events, and enjoying a conversation over a good cup of coffee!
